Welcome to the Wilmette Public Library

We are delighted that you are here. As you look around you will discover a rich collection of resources gathered with you in mind.

To see what’s happening at the library click on Events tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

Try the Kid’s Pages for instant access to library programs for children, suggested reading, links to schools and homework help sites, and collections of kid-friendly web pages selected by our Youth librarians.

For teens we have the Teens pages, where you can learn about programs or find a good book.

If you’re doing research or simply trying to find a quick piece of information, visit the Research tab for access to database information. With a Wilmette Library card and one of our databases you can do in-depth searching through published materials on topics like medicine, investments, or genealogy. Need a more personal touch? Send your question to the Reference department by Email or use the Chat link to chat with a librarian online.

If you’re planning a visit to the library, we are open 76 hours each week from Labor Day to Memorial Day - including Sunday nights until 9:00 p.m. - and 72 hours weekly during the summer.

Whether you are using our services online or planning to visit us at 1242 Wilmette Ave. we will make every effort to get the information or material you need.

Please, come in. You’re welcome here.
