Three seats on the seven-member Wilmette Public Library District Board of Trustees will be open for the April 4, 2017 consolidated election. All of the seats will be for a full four-year term expiring in April, 2021.
Candidates must be registered voters and residents of Wilmette. Candidates circulate nominating petitions and obtain at least 50 signatures from qualified voters who reside within Wilmette. Petitions may not be circulated for signature prior to Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Election packets containing petition forms and instructions are available in the Administration Office of the Wilmette Public Library District, 1242 Wilmette Avenue, third floor.
Completed nominating petitions signed by voters and circulators may be filed on weekdays during the seven-day period Monday, December 12, 2016, to Monday, December 19, 2016, in the Administration Office of the Wilmette Public Library District. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. File completed nominating petitions, a Statement of Candidacy, a receipt from the County Clerk indicating that a Statement of Economic Interests has been filed with the County Clerk, and a Loyalty Oath (optional).

The Combined Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for Library purposes for the Fiscal Year 2016-2017
These guidelines have been established by the Wilmette Public Library District Board of Trustees to be in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
The purpose of the Public Comment section of the meeting is to provide a time for the Wilmette Public Library District Board of Trustees to listen to comments from the public. Responses to comments will be at the discretion of the President of the Board of Trustees. The policy will apply to monthly Board meetings and committee meetings. Agendas for all Board and committee meetings will include a Public Comment section. There will be a sign-in sheet at all meetings to keep an accurate record of meeting attendees. Wilmette residents and non-residents will be able to make comments. Patrons may submit comments and questions to Library Trustees at any time through the Library website.
