32nd Juried Art Show

The 2016 Wilmette Library Juried Art Show will take place September 17, with the group show opening September 23. Artisits from Wilmette and throughout the Chicagoland area are welcome to submit work to the jury.

For the first time, the Art Show will require preregistration. Please click here in order to preregister.

 

Art Show 2016 Rules:

Who may enter:
Artists over the age of 18 residing in the Chicago metropolitan area may enter. There is no entry fee.

Where and When to enter:
Work will be accepted at the Wilmette Library, 1242
Wilmette Ave. only on Friday, September 16, 3:00-7:00 and Saturday, September 17, 9:30-11:00. The library is located
a block west of Green Bay Road on the corner of Park Ave.

What to enter:
Enter one wall piece, not exceeding 4’ x 4’, framed for gallery presentation and wired for hanging. The entry must not have been submitted previously. Dax-type frames, masonite and clipboard frames will not be accepted. Additionally, sculpture and multi-piece works (eg, diptychs, triptychs) will not be accepted.

Bring entries to the Wilmette Library.

Saturday, September 17, starting at 11:00
Jury convenes and makes selections.

Sunday, September 18
Artists will be notified about group show via email.

Monday, September 19, 4:00-6:30
Work NOT SELECTED must be picked up Monday, September 19 between 4:00-6:30.

Friday, September 23, 6:30-8:00
Opening reception, Library Auditorium.

Saturday, September 23 - Wednesday, November 2
Work will be on display in the Auditorium. Artists are urged to call the Library, 847-256-5025, to determine if there is a previously-scheduled event in the Auditorium at the time you’re planning to visit.

Thursday, November 3, 2013, 4:00-7:00
Artists must pick up their work. The doors will close promptly at 7:00. Work may not be picked up prior to November 3.

Summer Reading Clubs for All Agesreadforthewin

Join a summer reading club, and enjoy good books and fabulous prizes! Clubs are open to Wilmette and Kenilworth residents and to nonresidents who attend Wilmette and Kenilworth schools.

Adult and Teen Clubs

Starting Tuesday, May 31, visit the Recent Arrivals Desk for your sign-up gift and reading log. For every four books listened to or read, you’ll receive a completion prize and the chance to win the grand prize. Turn in your log sheets in by Sunday, August 14. The adult grand prize is a Fitbit, and the teen grand prize is a limousine ride!

readforthewinkidsKids' Club

Prereaders and independent readers through grade 9, sign up between Tuesday, May 31, and Sunday, July 24. Read at least 20 minutes a day on 20 different days to earn a free book and entry into a prize drawing. Reporting begins Monday, June 13, and must be complete by Sunday, August 14.
