Special NeedsSensory-Friendly Events for Kids with Special Needs

We welcome all children who meet program guidelines to our events. However, we understand that some kids have special needs that make attending certain programs challenging.

Listed below are sensory-friendly movie screenings and encounters with outside performers. Also listed are programs that, while not designed specifically for kids with special needs, may have particular appeal.

Sensory-Friendly Events

  • Pajama Storytime
    When: Wednesday, December 02, 2015 - 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Come in your PJs and bring your favorite blankie or lovie for bedtime stories, songs, and a craft. Ages 3 and up.
  • K-9 Reading Buddies of the North Shore
    When: Wednesday, December 09, 2015 - 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Sign up for a 15-minute slot to read some of your favorite stories to a trained therapy dog. K-9 Reading Buddies of the North Shore is a Therapy Dogs International Children Reading to Dogs Program. Grades 1-5. Wilmette and Kenilworth residents only. Sign-up starts October 28.
