While the Wilmette Public Library loves literature and language, we also recognize the importance of technological literacy. We offer many programs for children that build scientific knowledge and problem-solving skills, from simple chemistry experiments and animal visits to computer programming and Lego robotics.

  • Scratch Jr.
    When: Wednesday, July 01, 2015 - 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM
    Where: Auditorium

    Take the very first steps towards learning computer programming by trying out this iPad app, a version of the digital media design program Scratch designed for younger kids. We'll make games and animations. Grades 1-4. Registration starts June 17 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, June 24 for nonresidents.
  • PicoBoards with Scratch
    When: Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
    Where: Auditorium

    Do you like to do digital media design with Scratch? You'll like it even more when you use a PicoBoard! Using PicoBoards, hardware that connects Scratch projects to the real world, we'll experiment with sound and light. Grades 5-8. Registration starts July 1 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, July 8 for nonresidents.
