tweensThe Wilmette Public Library offers programs for kids in grades 5–8. The Kids’ Library Council meets regularly to do art, technology, and book-related activities and also to plan events and spaces for the Library. We also offer technology programs and occasional special interest activities.

Upcoming Tween Events

  • Kids' Library Council
    When: Monday, February 22, 2016 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Design and make your own stickers using our new vinyl cutter! Also, help plan library spaces and programs for kids in grades 5-8. Snacks will be served. Grades 5-8. Sign-up starts February 8 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, February 15 for nonresidents.
  • Kids' Library Council
    When: Monday, March 14, 2016 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Make and eat candy sushi. Plus, help plan library spaces and programs for kids in grades 5-8. Snacks will be served. Sign-up starts February 29 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, March 7 for nonresidents.
  • Light Painting (Gr. 6-8)
    When: Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Use digital cameras to capture amazing designs made with flashlights in the dark! Grades 6-8. Sign-up starts March 9 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, March 16 for nonresidents.

    Create an I Spy Aquarium to decorate the Youth Services Department. Plus, help plan library spaces and programs for kids in grades 5-8. Snacks will be served. Sign-up starts April 11 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents, April 18 for nonresidents.
