Current Events

Teen Selfie with a Book Competition

Dates and Rules: All Entries Due August 14.  Mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; open to all local teens.  

Nitty Gritty Details: Take your best selfie with a book to receive a Chipotle gift card (for one free meal) and a chance to win an iTunes gift card!  All entries will be hung on the Teen Room wall and will be judged by the Reference Librarians for most creative. 


Join the Teen Summer Reading Club!

Dates and Rules: May 31-August 14; open to all local teens. 

Nitty Gritty Details: Pick up a log sheet at the Recent Arrivas Desk.  Read or listen to any four books during the duration of the club, fill out the log sheet and return to receive your completion prize.  All submissions will enter you to win the grand prize of a LIMOUSINE RIDE to a local location of your choice!  


College Application Boot Camp

Dates and Rules: Saturday, August 13 at 1:00; registration is required.  

Nitty Gritty Details:Do you love reading manga and wish you could draw like manga artists? Wish no more! In this workshop, you’ll get a brief lesson on realistic drawing versus abstract. You’ll get to learn the correct proportions for manga design and even be given a chance to create your own character!
